North Place Massing
After having a little panic about the scale of the car park that we had to fit onto the site, I decided to do an experimental massing of the site, using quick, ad-hoc model making. Using a combination of card, tuna cans, carrots, newspaper and spaghetti (see recipe below), I created an arrangement that reserves the sight-line of the listed church and leaves a large amount of remaining space, for more exciting land uses and activities than parking a car. I intend to green roof the car park and create grass mounds around its side (represented by news paper), to extend and draw the views of Cleave Hill onto the site.
